Mom Entrepreneurs: Do You Need A Website Makeover?

Hello mom entrepreneurs,

I wanted to shed a little light on you today.  Are you just started a dream business or are have you been in business for a while?  If you answered these questions, well you know that having a professional looking website and one that is easy to navigate for your customers is a Must Have.  I wanted to give you a few tips on what to look for when designing your website.

Tip# One:
Do not make your website too busy! You are probably saying, busy what does that mean?  Well, it simply means that you can have to much on your website that causes your audience to leave your site because its hard for them to get to what they are exactly looking for.  Another reason could be that you don't have the kind of content that your audience or niche is looking for.

Tip# Two:
Have a Call To Action on Your Site!  This is a very important one.  A call to action is simply telling your customers what you want them to do.  I mean you are probably saying, tell them what to do, WHAT!  You would be surprised at how many times, I myself lost customers, or even new followers because of this very thing.  Don't assume that people know what to do when they approach your website.  Below is a few key call to action phrases:
  • Buy Now
  • Subscribe To
  • Follow Me
  • Purchase Yours Today
You see how simple things, such as the ones above are very important; but yet you still have a lot of people who don't incorporate this into their completed website.

Tip# Three
Get an Ecommerce site or a shopping cart that will be able to allow you to use coupon codes, or discounts.  For those of you starting out, this might be a bit much for you.  I know about this first hand because at the very beginning of starting my business, I did not have one, so I used paypal shopping carts.  I love paypal and I still use them from time to time.  But for my website, I use Zencart shopping cart.  I must say that this is one of the best moves that I have made.  Now, don't get me wrong, I'm still learning as I go.  Don't be afraid of change.  You either can keep doing what you are doing and reap the same outcome or you can do something different and reap new and better outcomes.

So the big question is who designed your website and where can I get my website madeover.  Great question, I would highly recommend Diva Designz.  I look forward to hearing from you.  Give me your feedback on my newly designed website.

Warm Regards,
LaTersa Blakely

  4. Great post, LaTersa.

I loved that you recommended a shopping cart provider ... I haven't really seen anyone talking about that.

I use google checkout, right now, but I plan to look into ZenCart and see if that may be better for me.

    Thanks again!
